michal, 30, infertility

She came to me with a complaint of infertility.

Recently she underwent a spontaneous abortion in the 14th week of pregnancy after continuous hormonal treatment.

At age 27, while still single, she became pregnant and had an artificial abortion.

Michal has a history of irregular menstruation and her blood tests show low levels of Estrogen and Progesterone.

She had been taking oral contraceptives from a very early age because of irregular periods and very painful menses and ovulation.

In addition she suffers from chronic fatigue, restless sleep and excess dreaming, and also irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn and indigestion.

Despite all these complaints Michal has a striking presence.

She is good looking and smart, funny and interesting and very much aware of her femininity and how to use it in order to get what she wants.

She describes herself as "always looking for adventure".

Recently, due to her "failure as a woman", Michal suffers from anxiety and hyperventilation.

As she puts it: "I am used to succeeding in everything in life and now I don´t know what to do".

 

Underneath the façade we can see great vulnerability and fear of losing control in life.

Tongue: pale and smooth, a bit puffy and red at the tip.

There is no coating on the tongue except at the root where there is a thin yellow, dry and sticky coating.

Pulse: deep, hasty and weak.

Missing in the lower Jiao and in Liv.

St and Gb are wiry.

Ht and Lu are sharp and fiery and without root.

 

Diagnosis:

 Michal suffers from imbalance of the Fire element and from weakness of Kid Yin.

As a result there is an "evaporation" of Fire from the lower Jiao causing weakness of the ovaries and infertility.

The digestive problems are due to the Yin of Water not feeding the Yin of Wood causing an uprising of Wood Yang invading the Earth.

The fatigue, restlessness and anxiety are caused by deficiency of the Yin of Fire not controlling Yang.

 

Treatment:

- For the first treatment I chose only Cv23.

Michal had a great fear of needles (a common symptom in people with Fire imbalance) and we decided one needle would do.

Cv23 tonifies the Kid and the Shao Yin thus treating the root problem.

- On the second treatment 2 points were chosen:

Kid2 (Blazing Valley): in order to tonify the Kidney´s ability to "anchor" the Fire.

Cv18 (Jade Temple): tonifies Jue Yin .the Jue Yin is rich in blood and it feeds and protects Shao Yin.

- the third treatment consisted of:

Ht1 (Extreme Fountain): tonifies the Ht Yin.

Cv15 (Dove´s Tail): Luo point of Cv.

Together these points "suck" the empty Fire from Yang back into Yin.

 

After the third treatment Michal become pregnant.

During the first semester there was a high risk of abortion because of bleeding and low hormonal levels and we continued treatment in order to support her energy.

Afterwards the baby developed well and Michal delivered a healthy baby boy.
